Environmental Responsibilities
- Be fully aware of all environmental legislation and ensure that regulatory requirements are met and, where feasible, improved upon.
- Monitor the implementation of the policy by carrying out periodic audits of compliance and when appropriate, introduce remedial measures.
- Ensure all employees, in the course of their duties, act in accordance with the environmental policy. We endeavour to encourage our workforce to help us achieve our goal and reduce our environmental impact.
- Encourage suppliers and customers to act in accordance with our environmental standards. Roach Bridge Tissues suppliers boast a range of environmental credentials that assist our continuous environmental commitment.
Current Environmental Measures
- All Roach Bridge Tissues paper products are fully recyclable and biodegradable.
- No ink waste. Our environmentally friendly water-based inks have a much longer shelf life than conventional solvent based inks and therefore we are able to reuse all excess.
- De inking filter press. All the liquid waste from our printing processes is passed through our filter press to remove ink traces before joining the sewerage system.
- All surplus and waste paper is fully recyclable and is regularly recycled.
- All wooden pallets are reused, recycled or restored by our supplier.
- Our packaging is fully recyclable and we encourage our customers to make the most of this feature.
- Our MG tissue paper stock for printing is made from 100% recycled material.
- Our MF tissue paper and coloured tissue paper is made from pulp sourced from FSC managed sources.
In addition, areas of particular attention within the business are the selection of non-polluting technology, waste minimisation, and the reduction of energy consumption.
Renewable Source Power
- The electricity used in our factory is produced on site by our hydro electric power station, a further step towards our goal of reducing our carbon footprint to zero.
